Tesla Model S delivery date slips to 2012
Autocar magazine are reporting that the launch date for the Tesla Model S will now be 2012, despite the original self imposed delivery deadline of late 2011. Tesla have not specified a month so this can easily be interpreted as a one year delay.
The big question is, how many similar delay announcements will Tesla make concerning the Model S before the 1000 customers who have placed their orders take delivery.
Tesla’s engineering boss Peter Rawlinson is quoted as saying they're "deep in the design and engineering phase" Hardly confidence inspiring when they're less than 24 months away from the previously announced delivery date and they're still engineering the car let alone setting up the plant to manufacture the thing.
